COPPER SKY DISTILLERY
An IN-DEPTH look into my work with a Colorado local whiskey distillery. A client turned into a work family. The work I have done with Copper Sky has been my most proud accomplishment. Thanks to the complete trust from Mike Root- Owner, I was allowed to take this brand in any direction the would fit the “Small Business” minded city of Longmont. The distillery is on their second location and continues to grow in both online and physical presence.
GOALS WITH COPPER SKY DISTILLERY:
-
The initial design was already created prior to joining the team. I did update and change the logo to uniquely fit the Colorado market. The mountains featured are the two peaks (Longs Peak) that are viewed from the city. we also added a borders in a diamond shape to compliment the mountain theme as well as the whiskey bottle shape. (Production design was factored due to having bottles pre-picked.)
-
Mike had the vision, but not the tools or experience to make it happen, and that’s where I came in. Together we created an award winning brand in which the artwork matches the blends. Both made with passion, deep thinking, and craft.
-
One of the major focus points with our initial campaign was to acquire an audience within our Facebook and Instagram pages. Facebook was fortunately growing organically but we needed to really step up the Instagram presence. After my initial campaign launch, we went from around 400 IG followers to about 12K. The Copper Sky Distillery account is currently at 15.7K followers on Instgram.
-
The challenge here was to both bring a nice and refreshing with also fitting in with Longmont’s VERY supportive local art scene. We highlight the perks of living in a city that is so inviting and supportive, and the obvious view of the mountains are one-of-a-kind!

After all. We wanted people to have wearable merchandise

The main goal with visuals is to give a fresh take on whiskey marketing. To showcase the Copper Sky Distillery prides themselves on doing things differently and out of the box. Below are some examples of posts created from 2020-2022

Like this whole project, I put a lot of time of effort into each design trying to highlight the longmont style with traditional whiskey elements.
